Karen Sue "Chubby" McNay, 57, of Jefferson City, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019, at Evelyn's House St. Louis, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 15, 1962, in Versailles, a daughter of Delmar and Donna (Ogg) Marriott. She was united in marriage to John C. McNay on February 14, 1981, in Versailles at West Union Baptist Church. She was a 1980 graduate of Morgan County R-II High School in Versailles. Soon after graduation she went to work for the State of Missouri and retired in 2017 having worked for the Secretary of State's Office for over 35 years. She truly loved her job and the people she worked with. She greeted everyone with a warm welcome and was known for her kindness and loving spirit. Karen was devoted to her church and loved volunteering in the church office, teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, and helping with Vacation Bible School. Mostly, she loved being MaMa to her four beautiful grandchildren and Aunt Chubby to her many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, John; daughters: Amanda Karr (Jason) of Jefferson City, Danielle Davidson (Bryant) of Jefferson City; sister: Patty Wittrock (Rick) of Versailles; brother: James Marriott (Missy) of Versailles; grandchildren: Faith and Ryan Karr, Henry and Samuel Davidson; special uncle: Jimmie Don Marriott (Mary Ann) of Tipton; nieces: Carrie Schad (Greg) of Versailles and Kristy Marriott of Columbia; nephews: Donald Stevenson (Corinna) of Versailles, Raymond Marriott (Melissa) of Fortuna, Alex, Austin and Aaron Marriott of Versailles and Derrek Wittrock of Kansas City; great- nieces and nephews: Andrew Schad, Alice and Levi Stevenson, Raylynn and Rylee Marriott. Karen was preceded in death by her grandparents: Emil and Anna Warta, and her beloved grandma, Maude Porter (Charlie); nephew: Justin Wittrock; brother-in-law: Don "Bub" Stevenson; dear childhood friend: Vickie Jo Peterson; and her favorite cat: Fluffy. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Concord Baptist Church. Celebration of Life will be held on July 12, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Concord Baptist Church with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Rev. Dr. Monte Shinkle will officiate.
