Dannie Gipe Jr., 49, of New York City, N.Y., passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019. Dannie was born on February 1, 1970 in Claremore, Okla. to Dannie and Sue (Schwemmer) Gipe. He moved to Hermann, Mo. in 1973 with his family and graduated from Hermann High School. Dannie graduated from Westminster College, Fulton, Mo. and University of Missouri School of Medicine. Dannie was Senior Director, Clinical Sciences, Cardiovascular and Metabolism for Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Tarrytown, N.Y. Dannie was an incredible physician scientist and exceedingly well thought of by cholesterol experts he worked with in the Biotech world. He was instrumental in bringing cholesterol lowering Praulent to market. Dannie married Dawn Krumpelmann on December 31, 2014. Dannie was of Methodist Christian faith. Dannie is survived by his wife, Dawn; his parents, Dannie and Sue Gipe of Wardsville; two brothers, Barry (Joyce) of Wardsville and Rodney (Amy) of Jefferson City; nieces, Chelsea Kirchner (Ryan), and Hailey and Alyssa Gipe; nephews, Mason, Bryant and Owen Gipe; and great-nephew, Aiden Kirchner. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. A celebration of life in Dannie's memory was held Wednesday, July 3 in Tarrytown, N.Y.
