Donna Kay Hammond, 60, of Jefferson City passed away, Thursday, July 4, 2019, at Capital Region Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Donna was born December 6, 1958, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Carl Richard and Nellie Jane (Reed) Ousley. She was united in marriage on July 18, 1981, in Jefferson City to Steven Hammond, who survives at the home. She was employed at various places throughout her life. She worked for Oscar's Steakhouse, Hardee's, Chesebrough Ponds, and was employed for 25 years with the McDonald's Corporation (September 1993-December 2018). Donna was a lover of all people, and it was this personality that drew people to whatever McDonald's she was employed by. She could often be found chatting up her customers on any given day. This inviting attitude and personality helped to make her the life of EVERY party, and formed her many lasting connections in the community over the years. Donna enjoyed fishing and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and her dog, Kolby. She will be sorely missed by her family and all that knew her. Survivors include her husband, Steven Hammond, Jefferson City; two children, Dale Hammond, Jefferson City; Holly (Michael) Yancy, New Bloomfield; two grandchildren, Maggie Yancy and Henry Yancy; eight siblings, William (Betty) Ousley, Holts Summit; Carl (Janet) Ousley, Jefferson City; Sally (Bernie) Clark, Holts Summit; Harold (Carolyn) Ousley, Jefferson City; Richard (Bernadine) Ousley, Russellville; Mike (Debbie) Ousley, Eugene; Earl Ousley, Jefferson City; and Lawrence (Belinda) Ousley, Jefferson City; two God-children, Kelly (Mike) Menning, Jefferson City; Brandon (Huston) Ousley, Jefferson City; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Jefferson City. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with John Cross officiating. Burial will be in the Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the wishes of the family for Donna's final expenses. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
