LaTreva Evett Smith, 47, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019. She was born December 26, 1971, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the daughter of Larry Edward Smith and Wanda Louis Britt-Smith. LaTreva worked for many years as a tax preparation clerk. She also worked for the State of Missouri. In her free time, she enjoyed to sew and crochet, cook meals for her family, and loved to dance with family and friends. LaTreva is survived by six children, Wanda Smith, Columbia; LeAnna (James) McCarty, Tevin-Jamal Smith, MarRissa Smith, JanElle Smith, LayLah Smith, all of Jefferson City; four grandchildren, LaRiah Smith, James McCarty Jr., Makayla McCarty, X'Zavior Allen Mallecoat; six siblings, Gregory (Rebecca) Shavers, Jefferson City; LaDonna (Kenyada) Lattimore, Peyton, Colo.; Larry (Elisa) Smith Jr., Kansas City, Mo.; Rodney (Kaite) Smith, Wylie, Texas; Avery (Alexis) Smith, Omaha, Neb.; Cory Smith, Kansas City, Kan.; her grandmother, Nadine Smith; aunts and uncles, Robert (Barb) Mahaney Sr., Rhonda Jones, Tina Clark, Maria Smith-Hurst, Wilbur Britt, Gilbert Mahaney, James Mahaney, Leana Mahaney, Stephanie Mahaney; great-aunt, Helen Ferguson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Britt-Smith; maternal grandparents, Robert and Flora Mahaney; paternal grandfather, William Smith; two uncles, Walter Mahaney and Vernice Britt; and two aunts, Roberta Washington and Blonnie Parker. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with Rev. James P. Mahaney Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the children of LaTreva Smith. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
