Mauda Ruth McGeorge, age 89 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Monday, January 7, 2019, at her home. She was born March 23, 1929, in Little Rock, Ark., the daughter of Richard and Annie (Striegler) Grimes. Mauda grew up in Campbell, Mo. and was proud to be crowned the first "Peach Queen". She graduated from Campbell High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in home economics from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo. In 1950, she married Frederick Teubner in Campbell, Mo. who preceded her in death in 1962. Mauda was later married in 1966, to Charles McGeorge in Columbia Mo. and he also preceded her in death on November 13, 1994. She was employed as a secretary for the Missouri State Legislature in Jefferson City for 15 years. Before her work with the legislature, Mauda worked as a secretary at the University of Missouri. She possessed a strong faith and was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Jefferson City. She also volunteered her time helping out with the Newcomers Group and X Club. Mauda cherished time with her family, especially traveling and fishing with them. Some of her favorite family trips were to the state of Michigan when her kids were younger. During her free time, she was an avid bridge player and loved fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks. Survivors include: three sons, Richard Teubner (wife Edith) of St. Joseph, Mo., Dr. Daniel Teubner of Jefferson City, Mo., and Jamie McGeorge (wife Angela) of Columbia, Mo.; one step-son, Charles Anthony "Tony" McGeorge (wife Joy) of Mexico, Mo.; one step-daughter, Nancy McGeorge of Hastings on the Hudson, Ny.; five grandchildren, Daniel Teubner (wife Joanna), Sarah Kennedy (husband Kris), Virginia Decker, Glenn Teubner, and Saxon Teubner; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, Landon Decker, Lorelei Decker, and Harrison Kennedy. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a great-granddaughter, Leilani Decker; and a step-daughter, Loisa McGeorge. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Grace Episcopal Church with the Reverend Ian Lasch officiating. A visitation will be held immediately following the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
