Mrs. Dewey M. Hoffmann, age 83 years, of Centertown, Mo., passed away Friday, February 8, 2019, at her home. Dewey Marie was born on July 5, 1935, in Gideon, Mo., a daughter of Raymond Harold and Lolia Mae (Pavy) Cooper. She grew up in Gideon, Mo. and graduated from Gideon High School in 1953. Dewey was married on July 10, 1955, to Frederick M. Hoffmann, who preceded her in death on September 13, 2007. Dewey spent most of her adult life in the Central Missouri area, having lived in St. Louis, Macon, Wentzville, California, and Centertown. She was a homemaker, but also went to Cosmetology School and was a hairdresser. She also graduated Moberly Community College. Dewey was a member of the Centertown Baptist Church, where she found solace and friendship. Dewey enjoyed fishing, country music, church, visiting with family and friends, and being loved by her dogs Tyson and Sadie. Survivors include: one son, Kenneth Dale Hoffmann of Macon, Mo.; one daughter, Sandra Loree Hoffmann of Macon, Mo.; one granddaughter, Amber Rose Hoffmann of Macon, Mo.; and two great-grandsons, Logan James Hoag of Macon, Mo. and Tyler Anthony Odum of Lawton, Okla.; three sisters, Flora Belle Smith of O'Fallon, Mo.; Ercil Mae DeProw of Wentzville, Mo.; and Earline Dunakey of Owensville, Mo.; three brothers, Tony Cooper of Hillsboro, Mo.; Aubrey Cooper of Camdenton, Mo., and Larry Cooper of Malden, Mo.; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dogs, Tyson and Sadie. Dewey was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Keith Edwin Hoffmann; three sisters, Kathleen (Cooper) Rose; Imogene (Cooper) Whitehead, and Winona Cooper; and two brothers, Kenny Cooper, and Gary Cooper. Visitation will be held at Centertown Baptist Church from 11:00 until 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday at Centertown Baptist Church with the Reverend Steve Bickel officiating. She will be laid to rest at 1:00 pm Monday, February 18, 2019 at the Mausoleum of Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in St. Ann, Mo. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Centertown Baptist Church.
