Anne Webster Maher, 82, of Jefferson City passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019, at The Bluffs in Columbia, Missouri. She was born April 22, 1936, in Helena, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Harry Luther and Lois Rowena (Berard) Carter. A 1954 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Helena, Arkansas, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from St. Mary of the Woods College in Terre Haute, Indiana in 1958. She was united in marriage in Helena, Arkansas, on June 16, 1962, to Robert Edward Maher who preceded her in death on January 21, 2014. A homemaker, Anne was a case worker for the American Red Cross in Memphis, Tennessee in her earlier years. She also held many part time jobs while her children were growing up. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph; the Janus Club and the St. Joseph Woman's Association. Anne enjoyed going to the White House Retreat in St. Louis and the Health Plex. She volunteered many years helping with the funeral luncheons at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Together with her husband, she traveled all over the world. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family and attending events. Anne is survived by three children, Cecilia (Randy) McDermit, Columbia; Mark (Linda) Maher, St. Louis; Anne Justine (Matt) Morris, Kansas City; and four grandchildren, Charlie Carson, Kelly Carson, Madeleine Morris, and Justine Morris. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert, and a brother, Thomas B. Carter. Visitation will be 4:30 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2019, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Louis M. Nelen officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.
