Kristin Kolb-Angelbeck, 45, of Deer Harbor, Washington, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at her home. She was born on December 18, 1973, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Donald Kolb and Judith (Barker) Fester. Kristin was a 1995 graduate of Oberlin College, where she studied journalism. She was a free-lance journalist who was recently published in Counter Punch Magazine. Her passion was whale watching and she was very involved in environmental causes. She is survived by her husband: Dr. Bill Angelbeck and daughter Simone Angelbeck of Vancouver, British Columbia; parents: Richard and Judith Fester of Jefferson City and Donald and Deanna Kolb of Eldon; siblings: Lisa Songy (John) of Overland Park and Craig Kolb of Jefferson City; niece: Courtney Kolb; and nephews: Zachery Kolb and Christopher, Michael and Jon Ortbals. Kristin was preceded in death by her grandparents: Marvin and Florence Barker. Friends will be received from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery following visitation. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the American Cancer Society of Seattle, Washington.
