Ralph "Truman" Schoenthal, 92, of Jamestown, Mo., passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018, at California Care Center. Truman was born on September 29, 1925, to Alfred and Clara (Schulze) Schoenthal at their farm home in Jamestown, Mo. Truman was baptized at St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Jamestown, Mo. on May 24, 1936, by Rev. John Schmidt. He was confirmed at St. Paul's Church on March 29, 1942, by Rev. Irvin Stegner. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's. He went to grade school at Hickory Flat and graduated from Jamestown High School on May 13, 1943. Truman was married on November 11, 1962, to Hilda (Strein) Schoenthal by Rev. Roy Stock. They were married for 55 years. He was a lifelong farmer and on the California MFA Oil Board for over 50 years. Truman is survived by three nieces, Sue Ann (Bill) Loesch, Laura (Wesley) Bailey and Karen (Freddy) Schlup; two great-nieces, Kelsie and Nadalyn Bailey; two great-nephews, Joshua Bailey and Nicholas Loesch; one brother-in-law, Walter (Virginia) Strein and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Truman is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Clara (Schulze) Schoenthal; one sister, Mildred (Raymond) Hall and one brother, Bill (Wanda) Schoenthal. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. all at St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Jamestown, Mo. Officiating will be Pastor Stephen Watson and Pastor Russell Cobb. Burial will be at St. Paul's Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Evangelical Cemetery in Jamestown, Mo. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo.
