Kevin Barnes

Kevin Barnes, 57, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 7, 2018, at Capital Region Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 29, 1961, in Jefferson City, a son of Gordon and Sarah (Stafford) Barnes. On August 7, 1993, he was married to Edith Fewins, at the Bridal Cave in Camdenton. Kevin owned and operated his own automotive mechanic business. He was commissioner of "The Hood", loved to watch NASCAR, drink Pepsi and tear stuff up. Along with his wife, Edith, he is survived by children: Aimee Green (Joshua) of Iberia, and Gordon John Barnes (Lindsey) of Jefferson City; grandchildren: Michael Jacobs, Joshuah Muse, Paige Sparks and Calei Sparks; mother: Sarah Barnes; brothers: Steve Barnes (Alice) and Mike Barnes (Sheri); sister: Sharon Schaefer (Larry); and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: Gordon Barnes and brother: Gordon Allen Barnes. A Celebration of Life will be held at Kevin's Garage on Friday, September 14, 2018, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The family requestS that everyone brings a side dish and lawn chair. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Special Olympics.
