Dr. Maureen Louise Swisher, 57, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. She was born September 24, 1961, in Alexandria, Louisiana, the daughter of Dr. Thomas Alcade Lacour Sr. and Kathleen Barbara (Harrigan) Lacour. Dr. Swisher was a 1979 graduate of Holy Savior Menard Central High School; received her Bachelors of Science from Louisiana State University and received her Doctorate of Medicine degree from LSU Shreveport Medical School. She was united in marriage to Mason William Swisher on May 22, 1993, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Dr. Swisher focused her career in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at various hospitals and medical practices. She was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking. Survivors include her husband, Mason Swisher, Jefferson City; two children, Kelly Swisher and Ross Swisher, Jefferson City; her mother, Kathleen Lacour, Lafayette, La.; five siblings, Dr. Thomas (Becky) Lacour Jr., Dallas, Texas; Dr. Kathleen (Jody) Rosson, Lafayette, La.; Elizabeth (Scott) Guinn, Baton Rouge, La.; Richard (Christie) Lacour, Lafayette, La.; Patrick (Michelle) Lacour, Alexandria, La.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon, Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at St. Martin Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Porterfield officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Memorials are suggested to LSU Medical School Foundation or to the American Cancer Society.
