Mary Elizabeth Stegeman

Mary Elizabeth Stegeman, 67, of Mary's Home, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 9,1951 in Tuscumbia, Missouri, a daughter of William Doerhoff and Jennie (Bungart) Doerhoff. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Stegeman on August 10, 1974 in Mary's Home, Missouri. Mary was employed with the Missouri Department of Revenue, Driver's License Bureau, from 1969 until her retirement in 2004. Mary had many hobbies that included quilting, gardening, and hosting/playing cards with her "Hotties Card Club." She was actively involved with the Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church where she quilted for her parish picnic. In 2018 the "Partners in Hope" Relay for Life Team, nominated and later that evening crowned her Prom Queen of the "All Girls Prom". During this same evening, Mary enjoyed her first limo ride that she was able to share with her sister and many other wonderful ladies. Mary was a wonderful lady, known as "Bubba" by her closest family, and she always saw the best in everyone. She was one of the most gentle and kind people around. She loved spending time with her family, going on shopping trips and especially loved her grandchildren and playing games with them. She always made sure she had plenty of food in her house so she could whip up a meal for any unexpected guest and she always had plenty of ice cream and candy on hand for the kids. She never let anyone leave hungry. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Kenneth Stegeman; son, Scott Stegeman; daughter, Melissa (Chris) Moeller; sister, Deb (Edward) Luebbering; and two grandchildren: Collin Moeller and Allison Moeller, all of Mary's Home; two sisters-in- law, Jeanette Steele (Charlie) and Debbie Branson; two brothers-in-law, Dennis Stegeman (Mary Ann) and Dale Stegeman; numerous nieces and nephews, Amy Pemberton, Sarah Morrow, Josh Luebbering, Caleb Luebbering, Nikki Ward, Jeff Steele, Ryan Stegeman, Patrick Stegeman, Sam Stegeman, Adam Stegeman, Brian Stegeman, Bryce Branson, Tyler Branson, Shelby Braun, Klint Braun, Dalton Stegeman; her honorary grandchildren, Wyatt Duncan, Braydon Pemberton, Jennie LeCure, Lucy Pemberton, Lynnsie Pemberton, Chase Morrow, Abby Morrow, Taylor Luebbering, Kayla Luebbering, Elizabeth Luebbering, Sydney Luebbering, Hank Luebbering, Waylon Luebbering, Colt Luebbering; and her four-legged companion, Ollie. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Jennie Doerhoff; two infant brothers, Paul William and Wayne Peter; mother and father-in-law, Victor and Irene Stegeman; brothers-in-law, Stanley Stegeman, Steve Braun and Louis Branson; sisters-in-law, Donna Braun and Karen Stegeman; and her beloved puppy, Sadie. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday November 19, 2018 at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church with a Rosary Service at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church with Fr. Ignazio C. Medina officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Stegeman family so they may make a private donation in Mary's honor.
