Helen Marguerite Eggen Kauffman, 96, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018, at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. She was born August 8, 1922, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Frank Leo and Augusta Catherine (Schenewerk) Brondel. Helen was a graduate of Centertown High School. She was united in marriage on May 22, 1945, in St. Martins to Bernard Henry Eggen, who preceded her in death on December 4, 1988. On June 5, 1992, in Jefferson City, she married William James Kauffman, who preceded her in death on December 29, 2004. Helen was a homemaker and a loving babysitter for many children, including several of her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, piece quilting, reading, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Survivors include five daughters, Mary Beth Morff, St. Louis; LaVonne (Steve) Kaiser, Houston, Texas; Jeanette (Bill) Muller, Olathe, Kan.; Elaine (David) DeWitt, Jefferson City; Gloria (Bob) Caine, Pismo Beach, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, Eric (Amy) Morff, Renee (Jason) Rainey, Kristen (Doug) Smith, Brittney (Chris) Craw, Kelley (Mike) Garner, Nicholas (Kim) Muller, Jay (Katie) Muller, Justa (Darrick) Davis, Kara (Jason) Cracraft, Lydia DeWitt, Will Caine, Parker Caine; 18 great-grandchildren, Andrew and Claire Morff; Quinn, Camille, Cade Smith; Cooper and Sawyer Craw; Grant Garner; Ben and Max Muller; Caroline and Amelia Muller; Jackson, Kaden, Ean, and Evalyn Davis; Kailey and Malachi Cracraft; one sister, Alma Boeckman, St. Martins; and two sisters-in-law, Agnes Brondel, Wardsville, and Lorene Brondel, Fulton. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bill Morff; great-grandson, Dawson Davis; and six siblings, Irma Stegemann, Alice Eggen, Paul Brondel, Lorene Boeckman, Raymond Brondel, and Tom Brondel. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m., Monday, November 19, 2018, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at St. Peter Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church, 216 Broadway Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
