William "Bill" Roland Towson

William "Bill" Roland Towson, 77, of Jefferson City, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at St. Joseph Bluffs. He was born on March 3, 1941, in Jefferson City, the son of the late James and Margaret (Maddox) Towson. Bill was united in marriage on June 16, 1978, in Oakland County, Michigan, to Judy Chapman. He was a graduate of Jefferson City High School. Bill was employed for over 23 years with Cassens Transport Company in Illinois and Ohio. He worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue upon returning to Jefferson City. Bill was one of the first volunteers of the Capital City Amtrak Friends program which he actively participated in for several years. He enjoyed golfing at Redfield with his many high school friends but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Along with his wife of 40 years, Judy, he is survived by his children: Audrey Sue Meyer of Jefferson City and Tom "TTT" Towson (Amanda) of Creve Coeur; four grandchildren: Ryan Meyer, Drew Meyer, Luke Towson and Abigail Merkler; and his two cats: Muffin and Henry. Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Houser-Millard Funeral Home with Funeral Services following at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter or the Jefferson City Special Learning Center.
