Lena Louise Kliethermes

Lena Louise Kliethermes, 95, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 20, 1922, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of the late Seaton and Verna (Crow) Pewitt. She was a graduate of Linn High School. She was united in marriage on July 6, 1944, in Linn, Missouri, to Wilbur Joseph Kliethermes, who preceded her in death in 1997. Lena worked as the office manager for Kliethermes Ford for 16 years and later as a car biller for Capitol City Ford for 10 years. She retired in 1983. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Lena's mother was a full Cherokee Indian and Lena was very proud of her heritage. Survivors include four sons, Earl Kliethermes, Jefferson City; Gene (Carolyn) Kliethermes, Montrose, Colo.; Dale (Diane) Kliethermes, Sunnyvale, Calif.; Bert (Rene) Kliethermes, Olathe, Kan.; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Virginia Jackson; and two brothers, Charles "Bud" and Brion Pewitt. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with Deacon Jim Kliethermes officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Cherokee Indian Nation. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
