Paul Emanuel Mosher, 96, of Eldon, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at his residence at Primrose Retirement Community with his daughter, Paula, and his son, Carl at his side. Paul was born on October 10, 1921, in Safe, Missouri. He was the son of Grover Cleveland Mosher and Elizabeth Salata (Klingsieck) Mosher. Paul graduated from St. James High School in 1940. His attendance at the University of Missouri was interrupted by WWII. In 1940 Paul enlisted in the United States Army. He achieved the rank of Sargent in the Army Corp of Engineering. He served approximately 18 months in the Yukon Territory and Canada involved with the construction of the Al-Can Highway, remembered as one of the outstanding feats of WWII. The reminder of his two years service, were spent in the South Pacific, Australia, New Guinea and the invasion of Morati and the Dutch East Indies and the invasion of Luzon in the Philippines. Paul was honorably discharged in December, 1945. Lifelong sweethearts, on January 20, 1946, in West Plains, Missouri, Paul married Rebel Jane (Morrison). To this union two children were born: Paula Sue (Mosher) Lea of Lee Summit, Missouri and Carl Emory Mosher of Jefferson City, Missouri. Paul and Rebel were married for 66+ years. Paul was extremely proud of their wonderful marriage and their family life. His beloved wife preceded him in death on December 23, 2012. The couple resided in Eldon, Mo. until her death. Paul moved to Jefferson City in 2015, and resided at Primrose until his death. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers and one sister: Grover Audra (Mary), Henry Daniel (Vinita), Jesse Woodrow (Carmlette), John Bunyon and Emma Elizabeth Rieke (August Rieke) and Mabel Morrison, sister-in-law. He also was preceded by his son-in-law, Lanny Lea; brothers-in-law, Van Morrison, Rebul and Kenneth Morrison and many beloved nieces and nephews. Paul attended the University of Missouri-Columbia from 1946-1949. He received a B.S. Degree in Agriculture and Agri-Business. Following graduation, he taught Veterans on Farm Training classes. He also worked for America Breeders as a supervisor and technician. Paul proudly worked for Kraft Foods Company for 32 years, serving as Station Manager and Dairy Farm Specialist. He enjoyed working with people and helping them build successful farm businesses. He was awarded the J.L. Kraft Jade Ring Award for years of outstanding service to company patrons and company. This was the highest award presented to an employee. He was a charter member of the Association of Missouri Dairymen and Sanitorians. Paul loved working with his producers and others in the milk procurement business. He was a member of VFW Post 2442 of Eldon, MO. Rebel and Paul provided a wonderful family life for their children. They were active in all of Paula and Carl's activities. The family enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and Europe. Many people referred to the four of them as the "Happy Family." Paul was a member of the Eldon United Methodist Church. Paul's faith and love of God was the foundation of his life. Faith and service to God, family and country defined Paul Emmanuel Mosher. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Visitation will be Friday, March 23, 2018, from 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Eldon United Methodist Church of Eldon, Mo. with a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve George officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, March 24, 2018, from 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home of St. James, Mo. with a Celebration of Life beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Richard Mosher officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will immediately follow at St. James Masonic Cemetery in St. James, Mo. Memorials in his name are suggested to Missouri Honor Flight, Macular Degeneration Research or the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Mo.
