Gerald "Gary" Keith Foley, 86, of Jefferson City, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018, at his residence. He was born September 24, 1931, in Central City, Neb., a son of the late Carlton and Nellie (Bales) Foley. He was united in marriage on August 19, 1954, to Betty Ann Blumm in St. Paul, Neb. She resides at their home. Gary was a graduate of Belvidere High School in Nebraska. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War being stationed in Korea then Alaska. Gary worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers, retiring in 1988 after having served 40 years with the Army, and then went to work as a custodian for the H. Kenneth School for the Severely Handicapped, retiring after six years of service. He was a member of Capital City Christian Church, where he served as an Elder and taught a Bible Class. He was a little league coach and a Boy Scout leader when his children were growing up. Gary enjoyed fishing, sports and his Friday morning coffee with the guys from church. He is survived by his wife, Betty Ann, of over 63 years; three sons: Douglas Foley (Robbie) of St. Peters, Dennis Foley of Jefferson City, Donald Foley of Berger; sisters: Lola Baird, Ann Johnston, both of Denver, Colo., Irish Fuller of Greeley, Colo.; grandchildren: Sarah Foley, Jacob Foley, Joseph Foley, Joshua Foley, Scott Foley, Daniel Foley, Jill Foley, and Austin Foley. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; son: David Foley; and sister: Lois Tucker. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the Capital City Christian Church, with Rev. Don Fankhauser officiating.
