Christina Mae Shelden, 85, of Russellville, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Villa Marie in Jefferson City. She was born May 15, 1932, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Mildred Anna (Knarr) Ament. She was united in marriage on December 1, 1951, in Vienna, Missouri to Ezra Leroy Shelden, who preceded her in death on December 23, 1981. Christina worked as a cook and baker for Sidney's Café in the Truman Building in Jefferson City. She also was a devoted and caring homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Russellville. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with her family. Survivors include five children: Ramona Wright, Jefferson City; James (Caroline) Shelden, Russellville; Mae (Frank) Sawyer, Centertown; Mary (Paul) Thompson, Russellville; Guy (Toni) Shelden, Russellville; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Kenneth (Beverly) Ament, Springfield and Charles (Diane) Ament, Osage Bend. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Morris Shelden; and four siblings, Lillian Backus, Shirley Davis, Carole Mueller, and LeRoy Ament. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Russellville, with Pastor Ed Merckel officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m., Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Kenner Cemetery in Hayden, Missouri. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, 2833-B, East Battlefield Road, Suite 100, Springfield, MO 65804. Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville is in charge of the arrangements.
