Bud Robertson

Bud Robertson, 75, of Tipton, Mo., passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at his residence. He was born on December 21, 1942 in California, Mo., the son of John and Frances (Dooley) Robertson, both of whom preceded him in death. Bud was united in marriage on July 6, 1989 in Otterville, Mo., to Cindy Sansbury, who survives of the home. He was a 1960 graduate of Tipton High School. Bud was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam. He then returned home and worked and retired after 43 years for Co-Mo Electric Cooperative in Tipton, Mo. Bud enjoyed being in the outdoors, fishing, playing cards, fish frys, was a basketball referee for many years, lifetime St. Louis Cardinals fan, played fast pitch softball, loved traveling and the ocean, and was a huge supporter of Tipton and California sports. He supported numerous youth in the area including Brittney Ellington, Elizabeth Lutz and Jessica Luscombe. Bud never met a stranger and will be missed by many. He is survived by two daughters, Jill Crane (Jason) of LaCygne, Kan. and Kami Ness (Ryan) of Lee's Summit, Mo.; three sons, Jay Robertson (Lindsey) of Topeka, Kan., Shane Dunnaway (Shawna) of California, Mo., Lucas Althoff of Tipton, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Peyton and Nicole Crane; Connor, Brooke, Megan Ness; Elijah and Layla Robertson; and Enoch, Eli, Max Dunnaway. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Anderson. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 12 noon 2:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life following at 2:00 p.m., all at the Tipton High School Gymnasium. Officiating will be Rev. Ken Greimann. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Bud Robertson Memorial Foundation, c/o the funeral home.
