Carolyn Wilson, age 86, a resident of Eldridge, Iowa, formerly of Trenton and Green City, Missouri, died Monday, July 2, 2018, at Grand Haven Assisted Living Retirement Community in Eldridge, Iowa. Mrs. Wilson was born June 1, 1932. in rural Sullivan County. She was the daughter of Forrest and Vita (Gibson) Page. She was a 1949 graduate of Milan High School. She was united in marriage on May 18, 1952, to Patrick Hanley Wilson at Mary Immaculate Parish in Kirksville. A 1953 graduate of Kirksville State Teachers College (Truman State University), she began teaching full time for the Humphrey's school district. Carolyn and Pat subsequently moved to Kirksville, then Moberly and finally, to Trenton in 1962. Carolyn began teaching at Trenton High School in 1965, eventually teaching 28 years in Trenton until her retirement. Carolyn and Pat moved back to Green City in 1993. Throughout her life she was a wonderful cook and seamstress, even making her wedding dress. She enjoyed teaching all of her grandchildren how to bake and sew, they all spent many hours eating her delicious brownies! She enjoyed attending the activities of her grandchildren and other athletic events, especially Notre Dame football games. She is survived by three sons, Mickey Wilson and his wife, Pam of Jefferson City, Mo., and their children, Jeff and his wife Erin, Brad and Katie; Richard Wilson and his wife, Fiona of Eldridge, Iowa and their children, Kerry Gooch and great-grandchild, Addison, Caitlin, Kinsey, Collin and Chase; and Tim Wilson and his wife, Michelle of Lake Quivira, Kan., and their children Matthew and Brett. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband (2011),her parents and one sister, Anita. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, July 7, at St. Mary's Parish in Milan. A family visitation was held Friday evening at the Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan, where a prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. Burial followed in the St. Mary's Parish Cemetery. The family has suggested memorial contributions be made to: St. Mary's Parish Cemetery Fund, c/o St. Mary's Catholic Parish, 101 W. Baker Street, Milan, MO 63556.
