Obituary: Valerie V. (Waits) Mueller

Valerie V. (Waits) Mueller, 55, of Holts Summit, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018, at her home after a battle with cancer. She was born in Sullivan, Missouri on February 22, 1963, to D. Victor and Nina C. (Ice) Waits. She grew up in Sullivan until the family moved to Elkview, West Virginia where she graduated from Herbert Hoover High. Valerie graduated with a Bachelors in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri, Columbia. Valerie was united in marriage to Eddie Mueller on April 27, 1991, who survives at their home. Valerie served in several positions throughout her career that began with teaching. She later worked at State Farm Insurance, and as an agent with Thrivent. She also worked with several cancer support and research publications, as well as being a sales representative for various other medias. She served with several organizations like Dreams to Reality of Jefferson City, and Faith Lutheran Church. She had a love for life and lived it to the fullest being a certified scuba diver, licensed pilot, and world traveler. In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by a brother, V. Vincent Waits (Sherry) and son Dalton of Pinch, W.Va.; sister, Vandee DeVore (Stuart) and son Matthew of Columbia, Mo.; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Our hearts are full of gratitude when we say many thanks to family members, friends and neighbors for all acts of kindness and sympathy including the Staff and Case Management Team at MD Anderson, especially Dr. Michael Frumovitz; Compassus Hospice Care; and Patricia Winger and Emily Yale for their extensive loving care and friendship. A Memorial Service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 2027 Industrial Drive, Jefferson City, on Friday, July 6 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tony Alter officiating.
