Orris Powers, 76, of Fulton, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018, at The Bluffs in Columbia, Missouri. Born on January 13, 1941, he was the son of the late Ray F. Powers and the late Viola C. (Scott) Powers. Orris retired from the Juvenile Justice Center in Callaway County. He enjoyed playing cards, playing music on his guitar, cutting wood, and fishing. He was a skilled craftsman who loved to make furniture. Survivors include son, Larkin Powers (Cassie) of Hartsburg, and their children, Nevin D. and Avalyne J. Powers; and generations of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Grover E. and Orville R. Powers, and sister, Margaret C. Allison. A memorial service will be held at VFW Post 2657 in Fulton on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested to VFW Post 2657, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, MO 65251.
