Carol Jean "CJ" Rayl (nee Vandelicht), 60, of Henley, Mo., passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at her home, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 22, 1957, in Fulton Mo., to the late Harold and Lillian Vandelicht. She spent much of her childhood in Bowling Green, MO. She was a devoted wife and loving, caring mother, who was passionate about her pets, politics, spending time in nature, mushroom hunting, gardening, and listening to rock and roll. She was a very giving person, loved spending time on the front porch with her husband and friends, cherished her grandchildren, and could always make you laugh. She is remembered by her beloved husband, Robert Rayl, who were married on February 14, 2014; son, Charlie Evers (wife Lora), Kansas City; daughter, Krystal Harte (Evers), St. Louis; and four grandchildren, Gage, Avery, Ryan and Jackson. Survivors also include her siblings, Debi, Jimmy (Lura), and Robert (Kim) Vandelicht; nephew, Jonathon; and niece, Taylor. She was previously married April 16, 2005, to Michael D. Harrison of Henley, until his death on July 3, 2012. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life service to be held Saturday, September 30, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Spring Valley Baptist Church, 15418 Rt. H, Henley, Mo. Bring your favorite potluck dish and memories to share. Carol will be privately laid to rest at Spring Garden Cemetery in Eugene, Mo. Memorial contributions can be made to the family of Carol Rayl.
