David "Dave" Vaughn Procter, 73, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Monday, September 18, 2017, at Capital Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born on September 25, 1943, in Belvidere, Ill., the son of Harry D. Procter and Lila E. Procter (Rea), who preceded him in death. On February 9, 1964, in Belvidere, Ill., he was united in marriage to Judith Mae Cranston, who preceded him in death on May 18, 2014. David was a 1961 graduate of Eldon High School. He was a talented construction worker and began his construction trade working in Vallejo, Calif. In 1972, he moved his family to a farm in Missouri. He contracted turkeys with Cargill, Inc. from 1980 - 1994. He later retired in 2009 after working at Windermere Conference Center and Eagle Sky Camp as Facilities/Maintenance Director. After retirement, he continued to use his skills for ministry. David is survived by three children, Carmen Garner (James) of Weeping Water, Neb., Carla Evans (Denny) of Osage Beach, Mo., and David Procter (Lynette) of Henley, Mo.; three sisters, Nancy Morris (Elliot) of New London, Mo., Sandy Gardner of Jefferson City, Mo., Lori Jordan (Dave) of Lake Ozark, Mo.; one brother, Carl "Bud" Procter of Dixon, Mo. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Hannah, Mason, Marshall and Dawson Garner, Landree Hills, Nolan and Hayden Engelbrecht and Dakota and Sierra Procter; one great-grandchild, Hudson Hills. Visitation will be held from 11-2 with a memorial service immediately following on Friday, September 22, at House of Prayer Family Church, Jefferson City, Mo., officiated by James Jackson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to House of Prayer Family Church or The Healing House. Serving the family, Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, Mo.
