Fedwa Marie Morris, 85, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017, at Jefferson City Manor surrounded by her family. She was born August 3, 1931, in Meta, Mo., a daughter of the late John and Eva Owen Kalaf. She was united in marriage on April 14, 1956, in Meta, to Charles Morris, who survives at the home. She was a graduate of Meta High School. Fedwa worked for Employment Security from 1949 to 1965 and then worked at Scholastics from 1965 until her retirement in 1989. As she had love and praise for the Lord our God, Fedwa attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a member of the Immaculata Club. She also volunteered for the Samaritan Center. Fedwa was given this unusual name by her grandmother, as she was a very special person. She had charm and was known in Meta as a gracious and friendly woman. In her early years, she would go with her dad to the Kalaf store in Meta where she learned to greet people and ask "May I help you". Which was a greeting she asked the rest of her life. Fedwa had a love for cooking and baking. She was a wonderful cook, and loved making Lebanese food. Along with her husband Charles, she is survived by her three children: Julia Morris of Jefferson City, James Morris of Jefferson City and Jason Morris (Michelle) of Russellville; her three brothers: Nathan Kalaf (Janet) of Puyallup, WA, Elias Kalaf (Arlene) of Columbia, Mo., and John "Mike" Kalaf (Diana) of Lohman; one sister: Marguerite "Mag" Kemna of Eldon; five grandchildren: Sabrine Morris, Mikayla Morris, Logan Morris, Jadyn Morris and Tristin Long; and one great-grandson: Kayden Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, John J. Morris; two sisters-in-law, Margaret and her husband Stanley Eads and Joann Schwermer and one brother-in-law, Kenny Kemna.
