Doris Marie Probst Truesdell

Mrs. Doris Marie Probst Truesdell, age 84 years, of Raymore, Mo., formerly of Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kan. Doris was born August 6, 1932 in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Leroy and Julia (Wurnitsch) Probst. She attended St. Francis Borgia High School in Washington, Mo. She was married to Keith N. Truesdell on February 16, 1952 in Washington, Mo. Doris worked for the Missouri House of Representatives in Jefferson City, Mo. She worked for two representatives and one senator before retiring from the Assistant Chief Clerk's Office at the State Capitol as the Recorder on the floor. She worked for the Missouri General Assembly for a total of 29 years. Doris was a former member of the Jaycee Jills in Jefferson City and the Ladies Lions Club at Rocky Mount, Mo. She was an explorer and loved to travel from places like Las Vegas to Italy to Barbados, etc. She loved to play bridge and spend time with her family and friends. She was a former member of Sacred Heart Parish, Eldon, Mo. and the Cathedral of St. Joseph, Jefferson City, Mo. Doris and her husband, Keith, retired to the Lake of the Ozarks for 15 years and then returned to Jefferson City in 2012. Doris moved to Benton House in Raymore, Mo. in September, 2016. She spent numerous summers at the lake enjoying life and her long love of swimming and boating (growing up on the mighty MO River) and listening for the Whippoorwill with her dad and later her daughters. Survivors include: her three daughters, Christie Ann Jett, Tracy Marie Scavuzzo, and Amy Truesdell Wolf; two sons-in-law, Thomas Jett and Robert Wolf; four grandchildren, Mary Julia Jett, Raghela Marie Scavuzzo, Tyler Keith Wolf, and Alexander Kenneth Wolf; one sister, Ruth Ann Kriebaum; brother-in-law, Jack L. Truesdell; sister-in-law, Elsie Windsor Truesdell; five nephews, Mark Kriebaum, Scott Kriebaum, Jack Truesdell, Donald Truesdell and David Truesdell; nieces, Kathy Truesdell Froning, Mauri Truesdell and Debbie Truesdell Stone. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Keith, who died on January 31, 2014; one son-in-law, Christopher Scavuzzo; brothers-in-law, Earl Kriebaum and Harry D. Truesdell; sister-in-law, Ella Buchner Truesdell; and one nephew, Kenneth Truesdell. Visitation will be held at the Cathedral of St. Joseph from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Reverend Monsignor Robert A. Kurwicki officiating. Graveside services and inurnment will be held at the Columbarium of Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
