William "Bill" C. Verslues

William "Bill" C. Verslues, age 82, of Loose Creek, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017, at Oak Tree Villa in Jefferson City. Bill was born on September 10, 1934, in Jefferson City, a son to the late Edwin and Josephine (Kramer) Verslues. Bill attended the Taos school system and was a lifelong resident of the Loose Creek area. On May 20, 1967, he was united in marriage to Mary Schollmeyer in Linn at the St. George Catholic Church. She survives of Jefferson City. Bill was employed as a delivery driver for Locks Mill in Loose Creek for over 30 years and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Loose Creek. He loved being at his farm working, watching the Weather Channel, visiting with friends and family, and driving his truck on the country roads. He especially enjoyed the time spent with his family. In addition to his wife of almost 50 years, Bill is survived by: two sons, Paul Verslues and his wife Wendy of Taiwan, and Bradley Verslues and his wife Angela "Angie" of Jefferson City; one daughter, Rachel Bratton and her husband Anthony "Tony" of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren, Hannah, Lara, Kylie, Brayden, Dexter, Chase, and Josephine; and one brother, Robert Verslues and his wife Rosie of Jefferson City; as well as many extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by one brother, Louis Verslues. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Immaculate Conception in Loose Creek. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Louis Nelen officiating. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery in Loose Creek. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
