Norma Ann (Stuckenschneider) Beck, age 76, of St. Elizabeth, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017, at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia. She was born in St. Elizabeth on January 1, 1941, oldest daughter of the late John and Isabelle (Vandeven) Stuckenschneider. Norma graduated in 1958 from St. Elizabeth R-IV as Valedictorian of her class. On April 4, 1959, Norma was united in marriage to Norbert J. Beck, who survives at the family home. Norma was a devoted wife and mother of eight children. She dedicated her life to her faith and family. She took pride in her garden, canning, sewing, and baking. She was especially fond of baking pies and cookies for her grandchildren. Norma's greatest joys included giving to her community with her gift of cooking and volunteering through various charitable groups. During her free time, Norma was an avid quilter and enjoyed fellowship at monthly quilt group. She enjoyed gifting her quilts to her family and others. She was a faithful member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and St. Ann's Sodality. Norma was involved with the CCD program for many years and positively influenced many young lives. After raising her children, she was employed by St. Elizabeth Care Center in the kitchen and office for several years. Norma is survived by eight children, Joanne (Randy) Crase of Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, Dennis (Chris) Beck of Columbia, Carol (Eddie) Berendzen of Higbee, Aileen (Donald) Rivenburg of Surprise, Ariz., Charlie (Missy) Beck of Mary's Home, Steve (Bonnie) Beck of Jefferson City, Joe Beck of Blue Springs and James (Ashley) Beck of Warrensburg; 23 grandchildren, Megan, Lindsey, and Audrey Crase, Deidre (James) Wormington, Caitlyn, Erica, and Jacob Beck, Nathan, Alaina, and Ellie Berendzen, Kyle Rivenburg, and Devin, Leon, Sam, Sara, and Shane Beck, Benjamin Beck, Felix, Anthony, Christian, Jose, and Trinity Beighley-Beck and Katherine and Allyson Beck; and three great-grandchildren, Sophie, Kaleb, and Landon Wormington. She is also survived by two brothers, Joe (Helen) Stuckenschneider and John Stuckenschneider; four sisters, Patricia Medsker, Janet (Larry) Mehmert, Mary Lou Stuckenschneider, and Linda Epstein; two brothers-in-law, Ted (Chrystal) Beck and Ray (Dee) Beck, and two sisters-in-law, Louise Beck and Eleanor Beck. Norma was preceded in death by an infant sibling, Isabelle. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 4 p.m. and rosary at 7 p.m., on Friday, June 23, at the St. Elizabeth Community Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth with Fr. Joby Thomas officiating. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Missouri Right to Life or the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in St. Elizabeth.
