Mildred Brown Fulkerson, 100, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born on March 8, 1916 in Jefferson City, the daughter of Charles and Georgia McDaniel Fromme. She was united in marriage on January 21, 1935 to David A. Brown, who preceded her in death. Later she was united in marriage on November 22, 1980 to Dr. Frank Fulkerson, who also preceded her in death. Mildred graduated from Jefferson City High School and Jefferson Business College. She worked for George's Plumbing and the State Fire Marshall. She was a member of the Jane Randolph DAR for 65 years, the Jefferson City Art Club for 65 years, State Historical Society of Missouri, Historic City of Jefferson, Cole County Historical Society, and a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Ruth Circle. Mildred was very artistic, she was interested in sculpting, painting, and sketching. For many years she was in charge of the Sketch Days and a judge at various art shows. She volunteered as a docent at the Cole County Historical Society. Genealogy was her passion; she was the family historian and was very family oriented. She is survived by her four daughters: Daveelu Boone of Jefferson City, Carol Loges of Jefferson City, Debbie Burkey (Lynn) of Greeneville, Tenn. and Sheri Jablonowski of Riesel, Texas; two step-children: Kim Forbis (Brent) of Wyoming and Scott Fulkerson (Lori) of Texas; 13 grandchildren; 27 great- grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one daughter: Billye Faye Brown Meyer; one sister: Lillian Hardin; and one brother: Charles "Bill" Fromme. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with Rev. Keith Vessell officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Leukemia Society, Cole County Historical Society, and First United Methodist Church.
