Clyde Dean Padgett

Clyde Dean Padgett, 81, of Holts Summit, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017, at the University of Missouri Medical Center. He was born April 12, 1935, in Steedman, Missouri, a son of the late Dan and Lola (Dillon) Padgett. He attended the Fulton Public Schools. On February 2, 1957, Clyde was united in marriage in Jefferson City to Martha Neely, who survives at the home. Clyde worked for the Missouri Highway Department (now MODOT) for 36 years. Clyde was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves for four years. Clyde's main love was his family, children, grandchildren, and music. Clyde was a regular on the Rooster Creek radio show on KFAL in Fulton for nearly 50 years. He also took part in many local festivals and gatherings playing guitar. Clyde is also survived by two sons: Jeff (Jean) Padgett of Jefferson City, and Kent (Mary) Padgett of Jefferson City; four grandchildren: Blake (Abi) Padgett of Jefferson City, Dr. Tyler Padgett of Fairfield, California, Savannah and Jacob Padgett of Jefferson City; and two great-granddaughters: Jillian Padgett and Danica Padgett of Jefferson City. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Lois West and Ruby Dollens; and one infant sister. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2017, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home with Rev. John Matthews officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
