Rita Catherine Schuttenberg

Rita Catherine Schuttenberg, 87, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 8, 1929, in Brinktown, the daughter of the late Anton and Elizabeth (Fick) Luebbert. On January 12, 1967, she was united in marriage in St. Charles to Robert T. Schuttenberg. Rita was a 1947 graduate of Dixon High School. Rita was employed at various place throughout her life. Those include, owner and operated Miss Rita's Hair Salon in Bridgeton, MO, St. Louis and Branson area banking, Oklahoma, Florida, and Missouri hotel management and Heilas High School Food Services in Jefferson City. Rita was proud to be the first women alter person in Branson and loved to oil paint and knit. She is survived by two sisters: Agnes Terbrock of St. Charles and Bertha "Pete" Stumpe of Jefferson City; brother-in-law: Ambrose Sandbothe of Wildwood; sister-in-law, Jessie Mae Luebbert of Springfield; 21 nieces and nephews and many friends. Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Josh Duncan officiating. Per her wishes her body was donated to St. Louis University Medical Program. Memorials may be made to the Helias Foundation.
