Christopher Bernard (Morff) Steelman

Christopher Bernard (Morff) Steelman, 32, of New Bloomfield, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2017, in Callaway County due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born February 3, 1984, in Austin, Texas, the son of Alfred Morff and Shirley McBride. On August 17, 2012, he was united in marriage to Crystal Steelman, who survives at the home. Chris attended Eugene Cole R-5. He was previously employed with Dollar General Distribution Center and currently worked with Scholastic, Inc. Chris enjoyed working on cars, tinkering with computers, and woodworking. He loved spending time with his children and his dogs. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Morff; grandparents, Bernard and Martina Morff; grandparents, Paul and Elizabeth McBride, and his best friend, Matthew Wagoner. Along with his wife Crystal he is survived by three children: Skylar, Kaytlyn, and Riley, his mother: Shirley McBride of Jefferson City; one brother: Joseph Paul Morff (Carla Trimble) of Jefferson City; one sister: Tanya Morff of Rock Spring, Wyoming; mother and father-in-law: Gary and Debbie Steelman of Holts Summit; sister-in-law: Donna Bergman (Mike) of Russellville and nephew: Brett Bergman. Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2017, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home where a Funeral Service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. A private internment has been planned.
