Elmer "Bubby" Logan Basnett, 84 of Holts Summit, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born in Jefferson City, Missouri, the son of the late Raymond and Clara (Ekstam) Basnett. He was united in marriage November 28, 1981, in Taos to Rosetta Twehus. She survives at the home. Elmer proudly served his country during the Korean War. He attended Jefferson City Public Schools. Elmer worked for the United States Postal Service as a mailman. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, and the V.F.W. Post 1003. He enjoyed playing baseball, softball, cards and bowling. He loved fishing and spending time with his family. Along with his wife of 35 years Rosetta he is survived by eight children: Dewayne Basnett, Teresa Wilson, Tammy Bosshard (John), Sandy Welch (Luther), Michael Underwood (Lisa), Stephen Underwood (Cara), Barbara Raps (James) and David Underwood (Jill); 19 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Leon, Danny, Doug and Mike and one son-in-law: Keith Wilson. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at the Houser-Millard Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2017, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Crum officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church.
