Pauline E. Gardner, 82, formerly of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017, in Joplin, Missouri. She was born November 18, 1934, in Argyle, Missouri, a daughter of the late Leo B. and Ann (Hoffman) Lock. She attended schools in Jefferson City, Missouri. On March 14, 1953, Pauline was united in marriage in Jefferson City, to Grover A. "Bud" Gardner, who preceded her in death on July 6, 2000. Pauline was an Operator for Chesebrough Ponds from 1972 until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Pauline enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casinos, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Pauline is survived by one daughter: Nancy A. Rackers (husband Ronnie) of Joplin; two brothers: August "Gus" Lock of the State of Texas; Ralph Lock of Bland; one sister: Leona Gradel of Freeburg; three grandchildren: Michelle Testerman, Jason Rackers, and Abby Gardner; and three great-granddaughters: Maggie Rackers, Krystal Testerman, Kaitlyn Testerman. She was also preceded in death by two sons: Roger L. Gardner and Steve R. Gardner; and two sisters: Roberta Boehmer and Lillian Welschmeyer. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with Fr. Donald Antweiler officiating. Entombment will follow in the Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society.
