Raymond Kenneth Maasen

Raymond Kenneth Maasen, age 90, of New Johnsonville, Tenn., passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Humphrey's Co. Nursing Home. Mr. Maasen was born on September 9, 1926, in Jefferson City, Mo., to the late Edward Maasen and Ida Bosch Maasen. He was retired from TVA and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Camden, Tenn. Mr. Maasen served with the 11th Airborne in the Philippines during WWII. He was also a long standing member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Council 9754 Assembly 2763. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Douglas Maasen, Gregory Maasen and a grandchild, Kyle Maasen. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Jean Maasen of New Johnsonville, Tenn.; sons, Barry (Stephanie) Maasen of New Johnsonville, Tenn., Bill (Lori) Maasen of Lebanon, Tenn.; daughter, Anita (Johnny) Townsend of Camden, Tenn.; a sister, Margaret Ann Maasen of Jefferson City, Mo.; grandchildren, David (Rachel) Maasen, Katie (Eric) Keeton, Derek (Corey) Townsend, Leslie (Hunter) Langford, Zach (Tabitha) Townsend, Trent (Amber) Maasen, Lee Maasen and 11 great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at 1 p.m. with a Mass to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Camden, Tenn., with Father Anthony officiating. Burial will follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery in New Johnsonville, Tenn. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017, from 10:00-12:00 at the Oakdale Funeral Home Chapel.
