Debra Kay Battles

Debra Kay Battles, 62, of Syracuse, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017, at her residence with her family at her side. She was one of two children born to Thornton E. and Della F. Huff in Tipton. Debra was a graduate of Tipton High School Class of 1972. She and Gary were married October 27, 1972, and they celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary this past fall. She worked in the Morgan County Assessor's office and also at the Main Street Bank in Bunceton. Debra was an Avon representative for 25 years and a member of the Community Baptist Church in Tipton. Family and friends were a very important part of Debra's life and her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She liked to go fishing and doing research on the computer. She was preceded in death by her father. Debra is survived by her husband Gary of the home; son Rodney Battles of Tipton; daughter Jennifer Steward and her husband Todd of Centerview, Missouri; grandchildren Kinsley Steward, Delayna, Emma, and Brock Battles; mother Della Huff of Tipton; brother James T. Huff and his wife Jerene of Tipton; other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Debra Battles will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Community Baptist Church in Tipton with burial following in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
