Doyle L. Russell

Doyle L. Russell, 64, of Holts Summit, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017, at the University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, Missouri. He was born November 22, 1952, in Jefferson City, Missouri, a son of the late Donald T. and Irene (Morgan) Russell. He was a graduate of Jefferson City High School. Doyle was united in marriage on December 6, 2013, in Jefferson City, to Geralyn "Geri" Boessen, who survives at their home. Doyle owned and operated J.C.D. Floor Covering in Jefferson City. He previously had worked as an Installer for Milo H. Walz then FAB Building Center in Jefferson City. He was a member of Central United Church of Christ in Jefferson City, and also attended St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit with his wife Geri. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2693. Doyle enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. His greatest passion was family, friends, and making people laugh. Along with his wife Geri, Doyle is also survived by two step-children: Cara Luebbering (husband Caleb) of Mary's Home; Cole Berhorst (Samantha) of Holts Summit; two brothers: Randy Russell (wife Sandra) of Swisher, Iowa; Donnie Russell (wife Sharry) of Jefferson City; four sisters: Donna Boessen (husband Robert) of Holts Summit; Lana Viessman (husband Roy) of Jefferson City; Gayla Coots (husband CW) of Hartsburg; Kathie Withers (Jay) of Holts Summit; two grandchildren: Ila Wells and Waylon Luebbering; four sister and brother-in-laws: Judy Schneider (husband Gene) of Jefferson City; Roy Boessen (wife Sandy), JoAnn Stock (husband Terry), and David Boessen (wife Arlene) all of Holts Summit; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit, with a Prayer Service to be held at 3:30 p.m., with Rev. Dr. Stephen H. Buchholz officiating. Additional Visitation will also be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2017, at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2017, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit, with Fr. Joe Corel officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Andrew Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. Andrew Cemetery Restoration and Improvement Fund.
