Anita Mae McGee

Anita Mae McGee, 93, of Jefferson City, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Oak Tree Villas. She was born on July 20, 1923, in Callaway County, a daughter of the late James C "J.C." and Della (Delmore) Phillips. On June 7, 1947, she was united in marriage to Warren L. McGee in Jefferson City; he preceded her in death on July 28, 2004. Anita worked for the Jefferson City Public Schools system and was a long time member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed antiquing, going to the lake and spending time with her friends, family, and especially her grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters: Connie Tharp (Steve) of Overland Park, Kan. and Patti Pavitt (Doug) of Jefferson City; grandchildren: Amy Connor, Kurt Pavitt, Brad Jeffries, Travis Tharp, Mollie Riss, Trent Tharp, Kyle Tharp, Katherine Wong, and Stephanie Tharp; 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, Anita was preceded in death by a daughter: Marilyn Jeffries and sister: Hilda Baron. Private graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017, Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Donor's Choice.
