Anna Pauline Grothoff, 63, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital. She was born May 23, 1953 in Jefferson City, Missouri, the daughter of the late William Edward and Fern Elizabeth (Tripp) Giesing. She was united in marriage on June 17, 1972, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City, to Steven Otto Grothoff who resides at the home. A 1971 graduate of Jefferson City High School, Anna received her Associate Degree in Child Development from State Fair Community College. She worked for many years as an in-home day care provider. Anna was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and volunteered at the church and school. She especially liked her work in the school cafeteria. Other survivors include two children, Joe (Stacy) Grothoff and Becky (Steve) Schaefer, all of Jefferson City; five grandchildren, Dakota Grothoff, Tyler Schaefer, Emma Schaefer, Layla Schaefer, and Levi Schaefer; and eight siblings, Eddie Giesing, Henry Giesing, Leslie Giesing, Junior Giesing, Norbert Giesing, Kay Mann, Jane LaFever, and Juanita Giesing. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Stephanie Grothoff; and four siblings, Judy Gibbs, Kenneth Giesing, Robert Giesing Prince, and Billy Giesing. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Friday, April 21, 2017, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2017, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald J. Antweiler officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the St. Peter Catholic School, 314 W. High St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.
