Lucile C. Clark, 95, of Jefferson City, Missouri, died Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing. She was born on December 23, 1920, in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Otha B. and Minnie C. (Murphy) Logsdon. Her mother passed away due to complications from giving birth to her younger sister. Their father then married Minnie's sister, Aunt Belle, who raised Lucile from the time she was a toddler. She was a 1938 graduate of St. Patrick High School. As a senior, she was recognized for achieving the highest score in Mathematics in the state of Missouri. She was united in marriage on May 28, 1941, in St. Patrick, Missouri, to G. Raymond Clark, who preceded her in death on 7/21/1972. Lucile's work ethic was unwavering. She began married life as a farmer's wife and worked for a time at the Canton Glove Factory in Canton, Missouri. After living in Rock Island, Illinois, the family returned to Canton and she began her career with Motorola in Quincy, Illinois. The family relocated to Quincy in the mid-1950's and she continued to work for Motorola until the mid-1970's. She then worked for Mercantile Bank in Quincy until she reached retirement age. Returning to Canton, Lucile did bookkeeping for a few local businesses which led to another career as the Manager of Canton Senior Housing, Inc., an 80 unit retirement complex. She retired at the age of 84 and in 2007 moved to Jefferson City to be closer to family. Lucile also served her community as an Ombudsman for the elderly of Lewis County, was a board member of the Northeast Community Action Corporation and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Her family and Catholic faith were the center of her life and her actions were a testament to her compassion for others. She was an avid reader, enjoyed baking, shopping for bargains and watching her favorite programs on television. Survivors include: two sons, Gary R. Clark (wife Marla) of Jefferson City, Mo., and Steven Joseph Clark (wife Barbara) of Ballwin, Mo.; five grandchildren, Mary Ellen Shimmens (husband Mike) of Jefferson City, Mo., Peter Clark (wife Mamie) of St. Louis, Mo., Sarah Schmidt (husband Brian) of St. Louis, Mo., Thomas Clark (wife Carrie) of Columbia, Mo., and Kelley Barnard of Jefferson City, Mo.; seven great-grandchildren; and one niece. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sister, Geneva Starcevich. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 30, 2016 at the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church in St. Patrick, Mo. with the Reverend Christopher Aubuchon officiating. Graveside services and burial will be held at the Shrine of St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church or to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Canton, Mo.
