Judy Diana McNeely, 66, of Eugene, Mo., transferred from this life, Monday, September 12, 2016, at her residence in Eugene, to her heavenly home. She was born January 16, 1950, in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of the late Benjamin A. and Eileen (Chaudoin) Rogers. On August 12, 1978, Judy was united in marriage at Eugene Christian Church to Alan McNeely, who survives at their home. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, fishing and traveling. She also enjoyed other activities like watching her children participate in sports, playing games with them and shopping at flea markets. Judy had a wonderful career teaching and being counselor at Smithton, Versailles, Osage and Eugene. She especially loved being able to help students make it through the "tough" times in their lives. She also was a member of Eugene Christian Church and helped with teaching in junior church, vacation bible school and other activities. Judy loved to sing Christian hymns and contemporary songs to God. She participated in the church choir and Christmas and Easter musicals. Music and singing also sustained her and her family during the dark hours of the Alzheimer's disease. Her songs now fill the expanse of Heaven. Along with her husband Alan, Judy is survived by two daughters, Sara McNeely of Lee's Summit, Erin (Mark) Miller of Branson; a son, Andy McNeely of Branson; one sister, Janale (David) Adkins of Russellville; two nieces, Indi (Bill) Braden and sons, Ben and Eli of Jackson, and Tynet (Brian) Ricklefs and children, Nora and Porter of Springfield; one nephew, Levi (Katie) McNeely and daughters, Amelia and Hadley of Argyle, Texas; and stepfather and mother-in-law, Bob and Anna Mae Shipman. Visitation will be Thursday, September 15, 2016, from 4-8 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Mo. Funeral Service will be Friday, September 16, 2016, at 2 p.m. Eugene Christian Church of Eugene, Mo., with Alan McNeely and Matt Boughan officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Garden Cemetery.
