Anita Jean Means, 84, of Fulton, was called to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. She was born on October 27, 1931, in Fulton, the daughter of the late Noah Otto Attebery and the late Fern Elizabeth (Daro) Attebery. On July 19, 1951, Jean was united in marriage to Kenneth Means. He preceded her in death on October 23, 2013. Jean was a member of Central Christian Church. She was instrumental in getting the Callaway Water District started. She continued her work with them for over 17 years, retiring in 1994. Jean enjoyed time in her flower garden, cooking large meals for her family and going for buggy rides. Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include son, David Means of Fulton; daughters, Deborah Mummert (Philip) of Jefferson City and Loretta Huber of Fulton; brother, Kenny Attebery (Carol) of Fulton; grandchildren, Aaron, Megan, Adam, Mallory, Mackenzie, Geoffrey and Alec; and seven great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, W. T. Attebery; and sister, Doris Black. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Central Christian Church in Fulton with Pastor Bill Nigus officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in Central Christian Church Cemetery.
