Charlene R. (Wyrick) Cooper, age 81, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 5, 1935, in Marshall, Missouri, a daughter of the late Charles & Evelyn (Morris) Wyrick. She was united in marriage May 8, 1954, to Robert L. Cooper who preceded her in death on July 11, 2000, to this union three children were born. Charlene was raised in Marshall and was a graduate of Marshall High School. She was employed at Westinghouse / ABB for 13 years, retiring in 1991. Prior to that she was a nurse's aide for many years caring for patients and sitting with them. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Charlene was a member of the Blind Society. She enjoyed working in her yard, spending time at her lake cabin, fishing, making jelly, dancing, cleaning, reading, cooking, and shopping. She enjoyed the holidays, especially Halloween, and Christmas. Most of all she loved and enjoyed being with her family and friends. Charlene was full of life and lived it to the fullest. Everyone who encountered her has a special memory with her as she touched so many lives. She is survived by her three children: Libby (Rick) Etter, Terry (Nancy) Cooper, Shawn Cooper; eighteen grandchildren; and thirty four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert L. Cooper; her parents, Charles and Evelyn Wyrick; one sister, Betty Twilling and one niece, Kristen Dohron. Funeral Services will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2016, at St. Johns Lutheran Church with Rev. Gerald Scheperle officiating. Visitation will be 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016, at St. John's Lutheran Church. Interment will follow the services Friday at Riverview Cemetery.
