Shirley Mae DeBrodie

Shirley Mae DeBrodie, 79, of Jefferson City, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born on September 21, 1937 in Peoria, Ill., the daughter of Cecil Jackson and Helen Marie Watson, both of whom preceded her in death. In 1955 Shirley was united in marriage to Carl DeBrodie, and he survives at the home. Shirley enjoyed bowling, listening to country music, going to concerts, dancing, playing cards and Bingo. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Most of all she loved being a grandmother and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband Carl and six children: Terry (Patty) Watson of Jefferson City, Kathy (Kenneth) Smith of St. Martins, Larry (Sherrie) DeBrodie of McGirk, Sharon Strope (Robert Moore) of Jefferson City, Carolyn (Larry) Summers of Jefferson City, Lisa (John) Summers of Holts Summit; 30 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, and three sons: Robert DeBrodie in July of 2010 and two of her triplets: Jerry and Gary DeBrodie, shortly after their birth in 1957. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at Longview Cemetery.
