Martha Cleophia Howlett Fahrni

Martha Cleophia Howlett Fahrni, age 94, of California, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Moniteau Care Center. She was born on April 26, 1922 at the Calhoun homestead near Russellville, Mo., to Lucian G. and Sadie G. Enloe Howlett. Cleo's nickname as a small child was 'Bunt'. She graduated school at Prairie Grove on Hwy 87 S., Moniteau County. Cleo was united in marriage to Roy Carl Fahrni on December 3, 1941 in California, Mo. Cleo publicly confessed her faith in Jesus Christ as Savior at Corticelli Baptist Church being a member for six years. She then joined Hopewell Union Church, Barnett, Mo. for 43 years, then a member at Main Street Baptist Church in California, Mo. Cleo was active in her church. Cleo worked at Primo Factory in Versailles, Mo. for 10 years and 22 years at Cargill Inc. in California, Mo. She was a homemaker with a love for cooking, enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family, children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Cleo was a 'fifth generation'. She is survived by: daughter, Linda Porter and her husband Roger; son, Glen Fahrni and his wife Joyce of Barnett, Mo.; and daughter, Rita Harris and her husband Tom of California, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Norma Jean Howlett of Oak Grove, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Fahrni on March 18, 1989; her daughter, Sue Ann Combs on August 28, 2001; two sisters, Ina Mae Golas and Neville (Wilbert) Winebrenner; and brother, Wyman Howlett. Visitation will be Monday, October 17, 2016 from 10-11 a.m. at Main Street Baptist Church. Service will follow at 11 a.m. with Bro. Eddie Schoeneberg officiating, assisted by Rev. David Howlett. Burial will be at Enloe Cemetery near Russellville, Mo. Memorials are suggested to Enloe Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.
