Patricia "Pat" Ann (Buschjost) Kliegel, 61, of St. Thomas, passed away on Wednesday October 12, 2016. She was born in St. Thomas on March 20, 1955, daughter of the late Jerome and Dorothy (Schulte) Buschjost. On December 14, 1973, Pat married her high school sweetheart, Thomas "Tommy" Ray Kliegel, who survives at the home. In 1981, Pat established and co-owned B&K Quick Shoppe. For 34 years, she enjoyed visiting with her customers. Her signature gift of joy was shown through her constant, contagious smile and laughter, which will never be forgotten. She was a pillar in the community, and has forever left an impression on St. Thomas. Her family was her life, especially her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. There was always a table full of laughs during Sunday afternoon dinners. Pat was an avid walker which she loved dearly. You could often find her walking around the town of St. Thomas. She enjoyed being outdoors and working in her flower garden. Pat was a member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Church. She was the Secretary for the St. Thomas Bowling League for many years. She is survived by her husband, Tom; four children, Kimberly Ann Kliegel of Jefferson City, Matthew Thomas Kliegel (Sandy Craigg) of St. Thomas, Jessica Renea Kliegel of Jefferson City, and Lindsey Nicole Haslag (Sean) of Loose Creek; five grandchildren, Kadence Ann Kliegel, Dylan Matthew Kliegel, Landon Thomas Kliegel, Kamryn Avery Haslag, and Hudson Levi Haslag; one brother, Arthur Buschjost (Cindy); five sisters, Mary Alice Cook (Rocky), Gerri Rackers (Richard), Irma McFadden (Les), Barbara Campbell (Jim), Arleen Long (Jim); one sister-in-law, Shirley (Kliegel) Kolb (Norb); and one brother-in-law, Bill Kliegel. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jerome and Dorothy Buschjost; her father and mother-in-law, Albert and Velma (Karr) Kliegel; brothers, Harold Buschjost and Charles Buschjost; and brothers-in-law, Robert Kliegel, Larry Kliegel and Robert Schulte. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, October 15, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church with Rev. Jeremy Secrist officiating. Interment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., with a prayer service at 4 p.m., on Friday October 14, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Memorials are suggested to St. Thomas the Apostle School or American Cancer Society- Buschjost Relay Team. Arrangements are under Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta.
