Wilma Vay Tindle

Wilma Vay Tindle, age 94, of Jeffeson City, Mo., passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Mo. She was born September 24, 1922 in Bruner, Mo., the daughter of Teddie and Georgia (Walker) McHaffie, both of whom preceded her in death. She attended Sparta High School. She received her teaching certificate from Southwest Missouri State University. After teaching for one year, she was married on September 22, 1941, in Ava, Mo. to Neil Tindle, who preceded her in death. She was a house wife, a dairy farmer, and worked at the shoe factory in Boonville, Mo. She finished her working career as an inspector with Cargill until her retirement. She was a member of Pisgh Baptist Church. Wilma enjoyed crocheting. She crocheted 116 lap robes for residents of St. Joseph's Bluffs Nursing Home. She loved children and fishing. She will be sadly missed. Survivors include three sons: Harold (Cathy) Tindle, Jefferson City, Mo., Joe (Delores), Jefferson City, Mo., and Ben (Linda) Hallsville, Mo.; one daughter: Wilda (Frankie) Morris, Columbia, Mo.; one sister-in-law: Pat McHaffie, Springfield, Mo.; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Wilma was preceded in death by one daughter: Freeda Angelbeck; one son: Bill Tindle; one great-grandchild: Catherine Kelley; one brother: Gerald McHaffie; and one sister: Joann Shockley. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Weber Funeral Home with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. with chaplin Jim New. Burial will be in the Centertown Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
