David Henry Wilde

David Henry Wilde, 80, of Westphalia, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at his residence. He was born on December 11, 1935 in Westphalia, a son of August and Anna (Brunnert) Wilde, both of whom preceded him in death. He was united in marriage on April 23, 1977 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia to Mary Huber, who survives at the home. David was a 1953 graduate of Fatima High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, worked at Sestak Bus Company and was a life long farmer. He loved to spend time with his family, especially the grandchildren. He enjoyed farming, fishing, frying chicken, camping, road trips and talking about his animals. Besides his wife, Mary, he is survived by his children: Darren (Holly) Wilde of Jefferson City, Jennifer (Corey) Stephan of Westphalia, Derrick (Jeannie) Wilde of Kansas City, Damon (Suzy) Wilde of Westphalia; siblings: Barbara Sharisin of Westphalia, Maurice (Marilyn) Wilde of Westphalia, Joyce (Jim) Weible of O'Fallon, Darlene (Virgil) Berhorst of Westphalia, Danny (Joann) Wilde of Westphalia; grandchildren: Kaitlyn Hartman, Evan Wilde, Cassandra Wilde, Madison Wilde, Cadence Wilde, David Stephan, Allison Stephan, Skylar Stephan, Abby Jobe, Henry Wilde, Christopher Wilde, Braden Wilde and Owen Wilde. David was preceded in death by his parents. Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at the Hilke-Millard Funeral Home in Westphalia, with a Prayer Service to be held at 3:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Westphalia Lions Hall from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Dr. Tamara Hopkins Patient Fund or Hospice Compassus.
