Mrs. Catherine Louise "Kit" Butzer, age 92 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died peacefully on Friday, November 18, 2016, at her home. Kit was born December 2, 1923, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Edward David and Theresa Meyer Geisler Markle. She was married on June 24, 1950, in Jefferson City, Mo., to Harold Godfrey Butzer, who preceded her in death on September 6, 2014. A resident of Jefferson City since her family moved to the area when she was in her late teens, Kit graduated from Normandy High School in St. Louis and attended the University of Missouri-Columbia. A homemaker, Kit was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph, the Guadalupe Circle, the Jefferson City Country Club, St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary, the Morning Music Club, and the Thursday Bridge Group. She was also active in Republican politics. Kit loved playing golf and bridge, and she also enjoyed painting, cooking, and entertaining. Survivors include four daughters: D'Arcy Blosser and her husband Jim of Lincoln, Neb., Lisa Dulle and her husband Paul of Jefferson City, Mo., Vanessa Robe and her husband Matt of Columbia, Mo., and Nikki Sims and her husband Dan of Leawood, Kan.; nine grandchildren: Beth Waller and her husband Mike of Lincoln, Neb., Megan Hobbs and her husband John of Lee's Summit, Mo., Brent Dulle and his wife Alex of Jefferson City, Mo., Alex Chaney Dulle of Springfield, Mo., Kristian Robe of St. Louis, Mo., Peter Robe of Columbia, Mo., Kate Sims of Denver, Colo., Will Ben Sims II and Mary Margaret Sims, both of Leawood, Kan.; three great-grandchildren: Ruby Waller, William and Gabrielle Dulle; and one niece, Mariann Gilchrist of Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Dulcis (Calvin) Plough and Tarquine (John) Gilchrist; a niece, Valerie Plough Reavis; and a nephew, John W. Gilchrist IV. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Reverend Joshua J. Duncan officiating. Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum of Resurrection Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary, the Helias Foundation, or a charity of one's choosing.
