Douglas "Doug" Edwin Toebben, 51, of Frankenstein, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 27, 2016, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was born on August 4, 1964, in Jefferson City, a son of Louis and Delphine (Kirkweg) Toebben. Doug was a 1982 graduate of Blair Oaks High School in Wardsville. On May 5, 1990, Doug was united in marriage to Sandy Mengwasser, who survives at their home. Doug, along with Sandy, were co-owners of River Ratz and Sandy's Store in Bonnots Mill. He was also the owner of Doug Toebben Construction, and co-owner with Sandy of multiple apartment complexes. He enjoyed carpentry, building properties, and spending time with his family and friends. Most of all, he loved the time he spent with his wife and children. He was always loving and cared for everyone he met, and in his passing away, he continues to give as an organ donor to help even more people in their lives. In addition to his loving wife of 26 years, Doug is also survived by two daughters: Paige Toebben and Emily Toebben, and one son: Lucas Toebben, all of the home; his parents: Louis and Delphine Toebben of Taos; one brother: Troy (Barb) Toebben of Loose Creek; three sisters: Julie (Craig) Surface of Taos, Angele (Roger) Vogel of Bonnots Mill, Tanya "TK" (Kevin) Harvey of Loose Creek; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving friends. Doug was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: William and Mary (Borgmeyer) Kirkweg; maternal step-grandmother: Rose Kirkweg; paternal grandparents: Edwin and Veronica Toebben; and his father and mother-in-law: Vincent and Pearl Mengwasser. Friends and family will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at the Taos Knights of Columbus Hall, where a Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Graveside Services will be private for the family. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Doug and Sandy Toebben Children's Educational Fund.
